Los Pueblos Mancomunados & its agency San Antonio Cuajimoloyas, S.M. Amatlan, Ixtlan, Oax invite you to the 6th Annual Regional Edible Mushroom and other Non-timber Products Fair

Fair Objectives:

1. To provide an opportunity for the Oaxacan public and visitors to learn about the different edible and toxic mushrooms that grow in Oaxacan forests
2. To present to the public and visitors the initiatives of some communities for sustainable harvest and cultivation of edible mushrooms and other non-timber products
3. To establish alliances between communities that collect mushrooms in order to improve management and strengthen commerce

Program
Saturday August 12, 2006:

• Hike in the forests of Pueblos Mancomunados collecting and identifying mushrooms and learning about their habitat (interpretive trail) Groups of 10 per guide
  
• Contest: the basket with the most diverse species of mushrooms
  
• Main meal in the forest, mycology games, begin drawing contest
  
• stay in community cabins (limited space)
  
• Don't forget to wear sturdy shoes and bring raingear and warm clothes

Sunday August 13, 2006 :

• Conference about mushrooms and non-timber products
  
• Food Demonstration, resultes of the drawing contest
  
• Exposition and sale of mushrooms and non-timber products
  

Costs:
$300.00 pesos= Saturday and Sunday (2 days, includes lodging and 2 main meals)*
$120.00 pesos= Sunday (1 day only, includes one meal)*

* does not include transportation from Oaxaca
